Help Needed to Develop New OHV Area in Northern CaliforniaBLUERIBBON COALITION PARTNER ALERT Help Needed to Develop New OHV Area in Northern California Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber, This alert is based on information from our good friends at the Recreation Outdoor Coalition (ROC) in the Redding area regarding sustainable motorized recreation opportunities on the Shasta-Trinity National Forests. I have pasted the information below; please take a minute to read it over and take action. Also, please pass this information on to your friends and family and ask them take action as well. As always, call or email if you have any questions or comments. Ric Foster
Help Needed to Develop New OHV Area in Northern California Forest Service managers on the Shasta-Trinity National Forests (STNF) want to provide appropriate and sustainable motorized recreation opportunities for the riding public. The Recreation Outdoors Coalition (ROC) was informally contacted by the Forest to explore opportunities to better serve the OHV community. This collaboration resulted in the Shasta County Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) tentatively awarding a grant to ROC for the Bagley OHV Demonstration Project. The goal is to develop a conceptual route plan to provide a variety of riding difficulties, challenges, and experiences in a well-planned and managed area, consisting of designated roads, trails and play areas along with supporting safety and infrastructure needs. Counts or observations to be made and recorded between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM on each of the following Sundays and Wednesdays during July, August, September, October and possibly November 2010.
